Abertis and GIC close Mexican highway concessionaire stake acquisition

Spanish developer Abertis and Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC closed the acquisition of a 72.3% stake in a Mexican highway network, according to a 5 June press release.

The European-Asian consortium has paid close to EUR 1.5bn (USD 1.7bn) to acquire Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners I and II’s combined 70% Series A holding in the Red de Carreteras de Occidente (RCO) concessionaire, as well as a 2.3% stake acquired from minority Series B shareholders.
