FCC Aqualia SA has entered into a series of urban water concession contracts in Colombia totaling over EUR 400m (USD 458m), according to a 8 March release.
Aqualia acquired 12 management concession contracts for urban water projects in the country’s Córdoba department, representing a total portfolio value of EUR 323.7m.
The contracts were previously held by three companies: Aguas del Sinú, Uniaguas and OPSA.
The Spanish developer also won an EUR 87.5m concession for the operation, expansion, restoration, maintenance and commercial management of the public water and sewage infrastructure in Villa del Rosario, located in the metropolitan area of Cúcuta.
The tender includes the design and construction of a 7km (4.3-mile) raw water pipeline and the design of a new treatment plant.
