Australia’s federal government will prioritise hydrogen, energy efficiency, steel produced from low-emission fuels, carbon capture and storage (CCS) and soil carbon projects for development assistance over the next 10 years.
The first stage of a technology road map that Federal Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction Angus Taylor released today at a National Press Club address identified the five priority technologies that will be eligible for AUD 18bn (USD 13bn) of funding and will form the basis for the Liberal-National Coalition government’s latest national energy policy.
