Bill Gates joins Blackstone Infra for Signature Aviation bid

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has joined forces with Blackstone Infrastructure Partners to make a GBP 3.8bn (USD 5.2bn) bid for global private jet services company Signature Aviation, as Carlyle joined the bidding war.

Blackstone on Friday (8 January) said that Brown Bidco, a vehicle 70%-owned by Blackstone and 30%-owned by Gates’s Cascade Investment, is in advanced discussions about a USD 5.17-a-share (GBP 3.81) offer for the shares in Signature not already owned by Cascade. Cascade currently owns 19.01% of Signature.
