Canadian miner Gran Colombia in talks to acquire solar project

Canadian mining company Gran Colombia has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to acquire an 11.2 MW solar project in Colombia, according to a 5 May press release.

The miner will acquire the “Suarez” project in the Tolima region from the Colombian subsidiary of Italian developer Renergetica.

The company will acquire the project through its Segovia Operations subsidiary, which operates a 9,000-hectare site in the Antioquia Department, and with which the plant will sign a PPA contract for the energy produced.
