Colombia’s lucky eight go to banks

Debt financing is taking place for eight solar and wind farms awarded in Colombia’s first renewable energy auction held at the end of last year. The diverse mix of lenders have a lot in their favour, reports Gorka Aristizabal

With auctions going quiet in many of Latin America’s other renewable energy markets, lenders in Colombia are preparing to jump into the debt financing of eight renewable energy schemes with a combined capacity of 1,299 MW, according to law firms and investment bankers with knowledge of the plans.
