EMEA: Loomes departs InfraRed after one year

17 September 2018 - 12:00 am UTC

Investment manager InfraRed Capital Partners on Monday (17 September) announced the departure of Ben Loomes as head of infrastructure just over a year after he was appointed.

Ben Loomes will be replaced by InfraRed managing partner James Hall-Smith and director Harry Seekings, who will be co-heads of infrastructure.

InfraRed invests in infrastructure and real estate and has launched 17 funds, including two companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, HICL Infrastructure Company Ltd and The Renewables Infrastructure Group. Seekings, who leads the day to day operations of HICL, is also appointed managing partner, a position Hall-Smith has held since 2011.

Loomes was appointed head of infrastructure at InfraRed in June 2017 after five years at 3i Group including nearly two years as a managing partner at its listed infrastructure investor 3i Infrastructure.

InfraRed did not give a reason for his departure but said he “successfully led the process of evolving InfraRed’s infrastructure business from a multi-fund structure into an integrated global execution platform.”

InfraRed chief executive Werner von Guionneau said: “We thank Ben for his contribution and wish him every success for the future.”

Loomes could not immediately be reached for comment.
