Verdeep Dost has joined Hermes Investment Management’s infrastructure team after 10 years at Macquarie.
A spokesman for Hermes confirmed that Dost, who was most recently senior vice president at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, joined Hermes last month.
His move to Hermes comes at a time when the currently UK-focused investment manager seeks to buy assets in continental Europe and the US. It recently acquired a stake in Denmark-to-Germany ferry operator Scandines.
Dost was focused on transport at Macquarie and was involved in acquisitions of assets including airports and toll road businesses around Europe.
Hermes’ current infrastructure investments include stakes in Associated British Ports, Eurostar, Southern Water and gas distribution company Cadent. It was founded in 1983 to manage the assets of telecoms company BT’s Pension Scheme.
