The sale of Equis ’ 11GW renewable energy portfolio is set to formally launch next week, InfraAsia can reveal. The information memorandum (IM) will be out by 14 June, deal sources said. Indicative offers are scheduled for 24 July.
The Equis transaction involves 100% equity in 97 solar, wind and hydro generation assets (totaling around 4.5GW) and another 74 in development (around 6.4GW) across Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.
All the management will be included in the deal – 272 professionals including 100 engineers and 35 investment and development professionals.
The business has been estimated to be worth USD 4.5 – 5.5bn in equity, as reported. Equis Funds Group have invested around USD 2bn and the rest of the valuation is derived from growth in pipeline assets, an industry source noted.
The Singapore-based fund manager could be seeking USD 5-7bn for the portfolio, an industry source said.
