Infrastructure Industry Foundation seeking industry feedback

The Infrastructure Industry Foundation (IIF) was launched last year by UK fund manager Infracapital with the backing of a number of peers in the infrastructure industry with the vision of establishing a permanent cross-industry foundation.
Through annual events, the IIF aims to unite the industry in donating funds to worthy charitable causes close to the industry and providing a lasting legacy. The IIF is currently seeking feedback from the infrastructure finance industry about its future activities and fundraising efforts.
Infracapital’s co-founders and heads, Ed Clarke and Martin Lennon, set up the charity following the diagnosis of one of their colleagues at Infracapital with a rare form of cancer, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC).
The foundation’s inaugural event, which took place in 2019 at London’s Science Museum, raised close to GBP 250,000 and was attended by around 400 people to support The Ella Project, which funds life-saving research into ACC.
The IIF is currently assessing ways forward with its fundraising efforts, and to this end recently sent letters to infrastructure organisations asking for their feedback on several related themes.
Firstly, the IIF is keen to find out if you are interested in joining the Foundation, membership of which is free of charge.
Secondly, the Foundation also wants to know if you are able to commit to taking a table at its next fundraising event at a cost of around GBP 5,000, which includes a donation. The event is due to take place at a venue in London in November or in early 2021, subject to social distancing rules and government guidance.
Thirdly, the IIF is inviting Foundation members to come forward with ideas for other charitable causes that the industry can rally behind.
