Infrastructure investors put ‘blanket ban’ on UK assets

Some of the world’s biggest infrastructure investors have introduced a “blanket ban” on further investment in UK rail, energy and water projects, citing the country’s “very negative” and “hostile” political and regulatory environment.

Dermot McCloskey, head of research at Inframation, an Acuris company, which collects investment data, said it had also heard that international investors, particularly Europeans, were holding off on investing in the UK.
