German development bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) filed documentation on the Luxembourg stock exchange to establish a Latin American Green Bond Fund, according to documents released on 6 January.

The evergreen fund will seek to invest in securities, but may also invest in equity, according to the 6 January document.

The fund will target investments in the countries and territories of Latin America that are eligible to receive official development assistance (ODA). At the time of investment, the jurisdictions must also be registered on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) list of ODA recipients.

Latin American and Caribbean countries that are on the OECD list for 2020 can be found here.

The stock exchange document did not provide any indication of the fund’s target size.
