Macquarie banker quits for CFO role

Ken Ng, a renewables-focused investment banker who recently quit his role as a senior vice president at Macquarie Capital in Taiwan, has started a new role as the chief financial officer of Hong Kong Broadband Satellites, he confirmed.

Hong Kong Broadband Satellites, which is part of the Star Time Group, is backed by China Aerospace, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Development Bank, and the Chengdu Government, according to Ng. The company is raising equity and seeking debt to fund its first satellite, which will cover coastal China, ASEAN, North East Asia, and parts of the Pacific Islands.
