Macquarie Capital will acquire the Bucaramanga-Pamplona highway concession from CSS Constructores, said two sources briefed on the situation.
The Australian manager is currently carrying out due diligence ahead of the acquisition of the 134.2 km highway concession and this could finish at the end of the month, according to the first source briefed.
The asset is the latest CSS Constructores concession that the asset manager will acquire, having agreed to purchase the Briceño-Tunja-Sogamoso highway on 10 February.
CSS Constructores will continue as the EPC contractor, according to the vice president of Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), Carlos García.
Once Macquarie closes on the acquisition, the PPP will have a five-year construction period and a lifespan of 25-30 years, García confirmed.
Macquarie’s interest in the CSS projects “demonstrates the attractiveness of the projects for International Capital Funds,” he said.
