Managing director set to leave OMERS

Adam Mendes, a managing director responsible for North American investment tax matters, is leaving OMERS Infrastructure. 

Toronto-based Mendes is leaving the firm of April 10 to a take up a position with his family business, The Delivery Group, according to an internal memo seen by SparkSpread.

“[Mendes]  led the tax  stream on many significant transactions including Port of Melbourne, St. John’s Terminal, IDI Logistics, Puget Sound, Leeward (to name a few)” according to the memo. 

Mendes joined OMERS in 2016 and was promoted to managing director in 2018.

Previously, he was a senior manager of investment tax finance at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. 

An OMERS spokesman declined comment.
