23 March 2020 - 12:00 am UTC

Only one bid was submitted for the USD 400m Miami Beach Corridor Trunk Line project on 17 March, said two sources close to the situation.

The team, MBM Partners, is made up of Meridiam, Genting, Aqualand and Jacobs Engineering. Advisors to the consortium are Jacobs (engineering), Société Générale (financial) and Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP (legal).

Miami Dade county anticipates awarding the contract by the end of 2020.

There are currently no delays in the procurement schedule caused by COVID-19, one source said.

Genting along with Chinese Manufacturer BYD Company Ltd. also submitted an unsolicited proposal in May 2019 for the rapid transit system connecting mainland Miami to Miami Beach.

The county then released an RFP for the public-private partnership in September.
