MIRA hires former ADIA infra head

ADIA’s former global head of infrastructure, John McCarthy, has joined Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets in Melbourne as a senior adviser.

Macquarie said in an announcement today he will provide strategic advice to MIRA’s infrastructure investment and asset management activities.

“We are looking forward to working closely with John to further our strong track-record, drawing on his wealth of global experience in the sector,” Frank Kwok, Head of MIRA Asia-Pacific, said in a statement.

McCarthy was ADIA’s head of infrastructure based in Abu Dhabi for six years until May 2019. He became a non-executive director of T2W Limited in Melbourne in May 2019, according to his LinkedIN profile.

Prior to ADIA he was global head of Deutsche Asset Management’s RREEF Infrastructure division for eight years.
