New South Wales cleaves WestConnex sale

The New South Wales government is offering its minority share of the WestConnex motorway in two separate 24.5% slices to encourage investors to bid against majority shareholder Sydney Transport Partners, the state announced today.

The government on Monday called for registrations of interest for the first 24.5% stake as it launched the split sale. A separate expression of interest for this, known as Tranche 1, would be due in January before the process moved straight into a binding bid round in the second quarter, said a source familiar.
