OMERS Infrastructure hires MD

Eric Machiels joined OMERS Infrastructure as a London-based managing director for asset management in October, Inframation understands.

He is based in London, reporting to Philippe Busslinger, OMERS highlighted his experience in private equity and hybrid infrastructure asset management.

Machiels had previously been CEO of Terra Firma portfolio company Infinis Energy from October 2010. He was seconded from his role of business director at private equity firm Terra Firma, which he joined in 2007.

Before that, he worked at two of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice’s portfolio companies. He was managing director for continental Europe at Sirva Inc, a relocation services company, and turnaround manager for Brake France, a food distribution business.

He previously worked at UBS Capital and the Parthenon Group.
