Michael Holland, formerly OMERS Infrastructure’s head of power and renewables for the Americas, recently joined Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).
He will work on its nascent infrastructure strategy, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Holland is listed as a partner at HOOPP Infrastructure Partners.
Holland left OMERS this past summer after eight years at the firm, SparkSpread reported on 28 June. Among other transactions, he led the acquisition of Leewand Renewable Energy.
HOOPP does not highlight infrastructure as a core investment strategy on its website in contrast to most of its Canadian pension fund peers. The website lists real estate, fixed income, public equities, private equity and corporate credit among its core investment strategies.
HOOPP finished 2018 with CAD 79bn (USD 57.9bn) in assets under management up from CAD 77.8bn the previous year.
