Partners Group raised new commitments of USD 1.9bn for private infrastructure in 2019, making it one of the fastest-growing asset classes for the firm, according to a conference call on 16 January.
AUM of private infrastructure in 2019 reached USD 12bn, a 14% increase from 2018. That compares to the growth of private equity at 9%, private debt at 25% and private real estate 8%.
The firm reported a total AUM of USD 94bn as of 31 December 2019. Total new commitments reached USD 16.5bn.
Private infrastructure makes up 12% of the new capital raised in 2019 and 13% of the AUM as of the end of 2019.
The firm expects its new direct flagship infrastructure fund offering to make a meaningful contribution to fundraising in 2020, the management team said during the call.
