Sixteen firms purchased tender documents for the USD 68m La Florida airport auction, according to a document recently published by the Concessions branch in Chile.
Notable firms include French developer Engie and Chilean airport developer Agunsa, which holds the current contract for the airport.
This will be the third concession for the airport. The works calls for the expansion, improvement and maintenance of the airport facilities, including increasing the passenger area of the airport to 12,940 square meters from 4,360 square meters, and expanding the parking lot to 406 spaces from 231 spaces.
The airport is in the municipality of La Serena, located in the country’s Coquimbo region.
