PPL puts UK power networks up for sale

PPL Corp. has announced plans to its sell its UK electricity grid company Western Power Distribution (WPD), a utility likely to attract infrastructure fund interest and achieve a multi-billion pound valuation.

New York-listed PPL said on Monday (10 August) that it has appointed JP Morgan to advise on the sale of the asset, which operates four of the UK’s 14 distribution network operators (DNOs) covering nearly eight million people.
