Sacyr-Agunsa consortium presents best bid for Chilean airport

The consortium of Sacyr and Agunsa presented the best bid for the Chacalluta airport project, the Directions of Concessions announced on a press release.

The consortium presented a bid of CLP 6,868 (USD 10.27) per passenger and fixed concession contract of 15 years.

The project was launched on September 2018, and on 21 December it received four bids. Other than Sacyr and Agunsa, A-Port, Belfi and Icafal presented bids. The government did not disclose the other bids.

The project is an USD 87m airport renovation located near the city of Arica. It includes the expansion of the existing terminal from 5,352 m2 to 11,592 m2, relocating the control tower and to double the passenger capacity of the terminal.

The new terminal will be able to received 1.145m annual passengers.

The government expect construction to start in 2020 and to finish in 2023. The project includes five new terminal gates and a plane parking capacity of seven.
