Scarcity value drives preliminary bids for Lambert International Airport

Scarcity value in the potential privatization of the Lambert International Airport is what truly drove 18 parties to answer an RFQ by the 1 November deadline, according to multiple market participants.

There has been a clear lack of US airport privatization opportunities for those assets that are governed at the state and local level, and while there is still no federal infrastructure bill in place. The opportunity that did exist was under the FAA privatization pilot program but that only allowed up to 10 potential applicants.
