S&P downgrades three Australasian airports

Credit rating agency S&P today downgraded Melbourne, Wellington and Christchurch airports, labelling as negative their outlook and that of four others at Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.

It reduced the rating for Melbourne Airport to BBB+, outlook negative from A-minus, which was the highest in Australia. The airport is held by Australia Pacific Airports, whose owners include IFM, the Future Fund and AMP Capital.
