SSE agrees disposal of UK energy-from-waste stakes

UK utility SSE has agreed to sell its 50% stakes in three energy-from-waste projects it co-owns with Wheelabrator in the north of England to a fund managed by First Sentier Investors, previously First State Investments.

SSE announced today it will sell its 50% shares in the operational Ferrybridge Multifuel 1 & 2 plants as well as its 50% stake in development-phase Skelton Grange, which is due to reach financial close in April 2021, to First Sentier Investors’ European Diversified Infrastructure Fund III.
