Cologix, a portfolio company of Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, acquired Montreal-based COLO-D.

The acquisition will add 50MW of hyperscale data center capacity to Cologix’s existing Montreal footprint which spans seven data centers throughout the region. With this integration, Cologix is now the only data center provider to offer Hyperscale ready-for-service capacity combined with unparalleled interconnective solutions.

Terms of the deal were not announced.

Cologix said it intends to deploy over USD 500m in data infrastructure investment throughout their Montreal footprint by the end of 2019, including an expansion of their downtown “MTL7” data center and an expansion of COLO “D-2 data center.”

Stonepeak reached financial close on its USD 1.3bn purchase of a majority stake in Cologix in March 2017. The deal was funded by USD 495m in term loans and a USD 75m credit facility. The acquisition was made out of Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners II, according to Inframation Deals.
