UBS infra managing director resigns

18 April 2017 - 12:00 am UTC

Tobias Wagnert has resigned as a managing director from the UBS EMEA infrastructure M&A advisory team.

A UBS spokesperson confirmed to InfraNews that Wagnert had left the bank, but declined to comment on his new position. However, he is believed to have taken on a similar role at Deutsche Bank.

If confirmed, Wagnert’s new role would see him team up once more with Deutsche Bank global head of infrastructure advisory Stephen Paine, who was formerly global head of infrastructure advisory at UBS before joining the German bank in late 2015.

Recent EMEA infrastructure M&A deals in which Wagnert was involved included advising ADIA on its acquisition of a minority stake in Scotia Gas Networks in October 2016, Beijing Enterprises on its acquisition of EEW Energy from Waste in early 2016, and JP Morgan on its acquisition of Dutch storage business Koole Terminals in late 2015.

Deutsche Bank declined to comment.

The UBS infrastructure advisory team is led by global head Steven Wirth.
